Winlog 32
Wish I had the time to tell you all about this one, it's the best general purpose logging program and it's free. A small donation opens a special feature (and you should send the donation plus a bit for this fine application) It has rig control for most rigs, built-in cluster, tracks most of the popular awards, even VUCC and IOTA stuff. Colin has recently added band maps, winkey support (that's probably been there a while but I just recently have taken advantage of it) any many more features too many to list here, but it continues to evolve and get better!
*****WARNING*****
If you are a PC illiterate moron:
DO NOT EXPECT MIRACLES FROM THIS PROGRAM!!! SOME BASIC USER INPUT IS REQUIRED FOR IT TO WORK, I RECENTLY RECOMMENDED THIS PROGRAM TO A COMPLETE IDIOT WHO CALLED COLIN AND THE ENTIRE HELP FORUM INCOMPETENT AND REALLY EMBARASSED ME, I SHALL QUIZ PEOPLE ON THEIR BASIC KNOWLEDGE BEFORE RECOMMENDING IT
NO MORE TELLING EVERYONE TO TRY IT LIKE I USED TO DO
THIS WARNING APPLIES EVEN MORE SO TO N1MM's CONTEST LOGGER AND THE OTHER PROGRAMS LISTED ON THIS SITE!!!

Some screen shots of Winlog32 in action

For Contests, there is only one application, the N1MM software is to contesting, like Winlog is to everyday logging chores, to me it's hard to believe that others can successfully sell a logging program with this application available for free! One even sells simple apps for each contest! So you have dozens of programs installed for each contest. N1MM is handsdown the best there is, I have yet to find a contest worth working that's not included, send QTC's with the greatest of ease, RTTY via MMTTY with marcos that make it a breeze, band maps, running totals, it keeps up with every item you can imagine, even time on and off with precise detail, it's a true pleasure to use, a rig interface really makes this one shine. Lot's of nice "little things" make this one heads and shoulders above the rest. Like contest rules at a mouse click, the DX cluster lays it all out in front of you. Like Winlog it has a comfortable WINDOWS looking interface, none of this "DOS-LIKE" looks with dull colors that give you a headache. And again, like Colin's Winlog this one is completely free! You can't miss this one, if you don't like to contest, this program will make you want to! N1MM Contest Logger
This program really needs to be connected to your radio for it to really work to it's full potential. Once connected it will make a world of difference, this one is free and 100's of times better than the ones costing 100's of dollars, save your money, stick with this one! Working 40 meters is a pure pleasure, this one gets the freq. information right down to the split info and takes the radio there, after a while you get the confidence to know that you are dead on the money, I have probably extended the life of my VFO encoder by 10 times with this program. In the average DX contest I rarely even touch the VFO anymore. I hit the bandswitch every couple of hours and the mouse and the Band Map do the rest.

ARRL's Logbook of the World (AKA LOTW)
The Logbook of the World is not a logging program in the normal sense of the word. But it's a web site where you can upload QSO's, see and check up on your QSO's. And even apply for awards on the supported ones like WAS and DXCC. It's a great step in the right direction of getting away from paying the high prices for stamps. USE IT!!
