After a long time off the air, I finally got a new front face for my Yaesu FT-857D. I have owned this radio since 2006. Making it the longest owned radio in my ham career.
I picked up a Timewave Navigator to get on 2 meter digital modes. I have made a few QSO’s in the 300-400km range. Activity certainly seems to have dropped off from what it was back in the 1980’s and 90’s.
